Art For Nature” is an avenue for us to raise awareness around, and bring exposure to some pretty amazing artists residing in the Garden Route area. Janet Botes, donated artwork to PTP to help us raise funds and plant millions of indigenous trees!!

Janet Botes Biography

Janet Botes (1984-) is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been involved with various projects, including these residencies and festivals: Global Nomadic Art Project by YATOO; Thupelo, OPENLab2016; THAT Art Fair; Tankwa Artscape; and Site_Specific events. She performed ‘Sand[spoor]’ as part of the Fringe programme of the National Arts Festival in 2012. Her first solo exhibitions ‘Wild & Still: expressions of the landscape’ and ‘ORGANISM’ was shown in 2014 and 201 respectively at StateoftheArt Gallery in Cape Town.

She creates art in a variety of materials and techniques that include land art, painting, drawing, mixed media art, videos, photography and sand installations – and involves her working just as much in the outdoors than in the studio. Her work is aimed at expressing our nature as humans within ecology, and our connection to the spirit of the planet.
